Volunteers
Dear Parents,
When I think of the Emmanuel Christian School community, I immediately picture a family. Not only is our school made up of many wonderful individual families, but collectively we make a strong unit that is bound together by Christ. As such, we possess a wide variety of talents and gifts that God has given to us to have an impact on the lives of those around us. As a community that is committed to integrating faith and learning, as well as equipping our students to make a difference in God’s kingdom, we need to work together to provide the richest opportunities for our children, and for the future of Emmanuel Christian School. We know that children look up to their parents as role models, who set the example of what is perceived as the norm. What better way than by showing your children to have a servant’s heart. Your participation in volunteering is essential in furthering Christian education and the Vision of EMCS. To further illustrate this point, I would like to highlight some of the ways that all of our students have benefitted from our volunteers over the past year. Ranging from preparing food to organizing transportation for our sports teams to coordinating special events, parent volunteers have insured that all students receive these services. Furthermore, volunteers played a vital role in the various fundraising activities that we did this year. These efforts represented a savings of approximately $300 per student that we did not have to charge in tuition. With this in mind, we are respectfully requesting that each EMCS family contribute a minimum of 10 hours to the school in volunteer service for the upcoming academic year. As mentioned, your active involvement benefits our students, builds our community and also contributes to controlling our tuition costs. Attached you will find a volunteer form for the school year 2022-2023. It is evident by the length and diversity of the list of opportunities that your particular skillset will be most beneficial to the school. Please take a couple of minutes to read the form, prayerfully consider how and where you can volunteer and then return it to forms@emmanuelcs.ca by June 30, 2022. We can make a difference if we all serve together!
